From painfully obscure to completely obvious, the third and final clue for the Imperial Assault II Mystery Unit is upon us.

Greetings and Salutations, ladies and gentlemen of our increasingly-frustrated fanbase! The SECRET UNIT guesses keep on coming, and thus so shall the clues! We've had a wide assortment of speculation about the semantics of the word 'frigate' as well as a cascade of verbal excrement from Ryan which has, thus far, managed to completely distract and flabbergast our valued viewers! And despite two clues so far, every guess looks to us like a shot in the dark. They're perfectly helpful - it's just you who doesn't see it!

Ach, vell. But thus, in an attempt to assist your sleuthing, we present you with this -- A VIDEO CLUE!

With this clue comes the announcement that the IA2 team will be releasing this Mystery Unit in a mini-mod, along with a space unit of your choice.

You may be wondering ‘but IA2 staff, what’s in it for us? Why should we care about the SECRET UNIT?’ Well... I suppose I can let you in on some info. We might be releasing the SECRET UNIT, whatever it may be, in a stand-alone download along with a supplementary space unit it what some might call… a mini mod. Oh yes, that other space unit I mentioned, you get to choose it...

And finally, a render and ingame screen of the NTB-630 Bomber, one of the units you can choose from to be included in a mini-mod with the Mystery Unit.

The second clue for Imperial Assault II's Mystery Unit has just been released. And it is even less revealing than the first.

With our first SECRET UNIT clue out there we’ve had plenty of guesses, ranging from infantry to ships to vehicles to giant, gun-laden jellyfish. We’ve had some very creative ideas thrown out there, as well as some that have come dangerously close to guessing the identity of the SECRET UNIT!

That said, here is your second clue!

Still don’t know? Come on, it’s not that hard! Well, if you’d like to see a unit release from IA2 in the near future, you’d better put your heads together and figure it out!

The folks over at the Imperial Assault II: Rise of the Empire mod are making us work for our eye-candy this time:

SECRET UNIT Clue #1!

Imperial Assault II is scuttling along the progress trail, slowly but surely. Art, maps, and coding are being developed as we speak! Well, we here at IAII wouldn’t be anything without a fanbase, and so we’ve decided to provide you all with a bit of entertainment!

Recently, we’ve been working on a fancy new unit that should knock your collective socks off, but we think that simply telling you what it is would be far too easy.

Therefore, over the next few days, we will be releasing clues as to the identity of our SECRET UNIT. All you will have to deduce what it is are a few insubstantial screenshots, each of which will depict all or part of the SECRET UNIT. Put your Star Wars knowledge and keen eyes to the test! Can you guess the identity of the SECRET UNIT?

Alright, are you ready? Are you excited? Of course you are! Here is your first clue…

Yesterday, GameSpot released the first designer diary for the upcoming expansion, Forces of Corruption.  In this diary, Lead Designer Chris Rubyor talks about the new faction, The Underworld.

Quote:
The primary purpose of corruption is to generate cash, and it allows access to black-market technology. Essentially, it works like a mining facility, extorting a percentage of credits from planetary income generated during a galactic day. The Underworld requires large quantities of cash for pretty much everything, and corruption is the primary way for it to generate income.
