» Patch Delay
Posted May 9, 2006 by Lord Of Gifts. Link To This News Post: [news=41]Patch Delay[/news] Turns out the patch won't be available before E3. But its for the better, because nobody likes a buggy patch, right? Quote:
Despite the best efforts of everyone involved, the 1.04 patch for EAW
did not come together in time for a pre-E3 release. We are confident
that the multiplayer and save/load issues standing in the way of
release will be resolved shortly and we can spend the rest of this week
conducting a thorough battery of tests to insure a clean patch. We are
confident that it will be worth the wait as we will also have the map
editor available soon that will allow you to expand your Empire At War
experience. As always, thank you for your support, enthusiasm and patience.
» Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
Posted May 9, 2006 by Lord Of Gifts. Link To This News Post: [news=40]Empire at War: Forces of Corruption[/news] Today, LucasArts has released the title, and some information of the expansion to Empire at War, Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. Quote:
Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption Following the success of Star Wars: Empire at War, the best-selling PC game of Q1 2006, LucasArts announces an expansion pack titled Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. A widely appealing strategy game, Empire at War let gamers play the light side or the dark side in an epic Galactic Civil War. Now, for the first time ever, Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption introduces a unique point of view – the corrupt side. The Rebels have just destroyed the Death Star, and the galaxy is in turmoil. As an aspiring Underworld figure named Tyber Zann, spread corruption throughout the galaxy using new strategic gameplay elements to influence other factions, steal their funds, slow their production, spy on them and more, all en route to becoming the most notorious criminal leader since Jabba the Hutt. Exciting new land-tactical options like customizable, upgradeable bases and guerilla warfare allow for innovative battlefield tactics. Take command of and confront new fighting units for all factions (Rebel B-wings, Imperial TIE interceptors, Darth Vader’s Executor Super Star Destroyer and more), and take down anyone who stands in your way of ruling the Underworld, be they new battlefield heroes like Luke Skywalker and Yoda or the forces of your most bitter rival – Jabba. Destroy capital ships with the awesome firepower of the second Death Star, and satiate Tyber’s drive for the deadliest capital ship in the galaxy, a devastatingly powerful Super Star Destroyer known as the Eclipse.

Posted April 30, 2006 by Lord Of Gifts. Link To This News Post: [news=39]Patch 1.04, Map Editor[/news] [LEC]Rogue has posted some information concerning the release of Patch 1.04 and the much awaited Map Editor over at the LucasArts Forums. He also gives word that there will be somthing to see for EaW fans at E3 this year. An expansion perhaps? Quote(LucasArts Forums):
Hey everybody! I know I've been gone for a little while and for that I apologize. We've been preparing for E3 and it's been a wild crazy ride. If anyone is going to E3 in a couple of weeks, stop by the LucasArts booth and check out the line up for this year. There are some really great games in the works including more stuff in store for Star Wars: Empire at War. This has also been an exciting week for EAW and I have a few announcements! Work is nearly completed on Patch 1.04 and the targeted release is sometime next week. Here are some of the highlights: - Numerous balancing tweaks to both the Rebellion and Empire units - Custom maps created with the map editor can now be played in the game - If a player needs a particular custom map in order to play in an online game, the map will be automatically downloaded - An issue causing capital ships to sometimes become invisible has been corrected - Check out the changes in more detail when the patch goes live! Work on the map editor is also almost complete and is scheduled to be available as a separate download along with the release of the patch or very soon thereafter pending a few finishing touches being applied as we speak! The editor will allow users to create custom space and land maps for Star Wars: Empire at War, more details to come. (15 pages) « ‹56789› » |
