The kind folks over at Petro have extended the deadline of the Outer Rim Customs Contest to September 16.


Also, the second Petroglyph Game Day is here. Beat the devs at their own game and win prizes! Its happening at 5PM PST in the General Lobby.

After a week of judging, the Petroglyph Design Director, FoC Lead Desginer, and Art Director have chosen the three winners out of ten finalists:
  1. First Place goes to Sandman64 for his Mon Calamari - Island Assault map.
  2. FuzionInfinity takes Second Place with his map, Alderaan Citadel.
  3. Finally, in Third Place,WikiD and Bypass At Eriadu.

Congratulations to the winners, and the runners-up as well. And if you missed out on the Map Making Contest, don't forget to send an entry in for the Outer Rim Customs Contest.

Petroglyph, in partnership with Creative and Outer Rim Customs, is giving you another chance to win some awsome prizes in their latest contest, where you use your imagination to pimp your favorite EaW vehicle.



There are three different catagorys to enter in, Best Capital Ship, Best Fighter, and Best Planetary Craft. Winners for each catagory recive a Prize Bundle of a SoundBlaster X-Fi Sound Card and Empire at War Promotional Stand. They also get a shot at the Grand Prize of $300 Cash, with their entry on the cover of a High Quality Print of Outer Rim Customs Magazine.

In designer diary number 3, Lead Designer Pat Pannullo gives a look into the story and characters behind the expansion to Empire at War.

So what is the story? Forces of Corruption introduces Tyber Zann, a crime lord who was set up for a fall by Jabba the Hutt (though he definitely deserved it). Tyber's story starts at the bottom; thanks to Jabba, he's been cooling his heels in the Kessel spice mines for a few years. But as is the case with most crime lords, Tyber's connections don't end while he's in prison; Tyber is able to orchestrate his own escape and from there reclaim his power.
